There are certain moments in fashion that happen quietly. No runway. Just a group of extraordinary people walking into a room wearing something that fits them, in every sense of the word.

That was the feeling when we dressed Katie Noonan, Hannah Fraser, Louis Hurley and Andrew O'Connor for a recent performance with AVÉ, Australian Vocal Ensemble and we haven't stopped thinking about it since.

Who is AVÉ?

AVÉ (Australian Vocal Ensemble) was founded in 2021 by Katie Noonan, ARIA Award winner, 30 studio albums deep, and still one of the most captivating performers on any stage. AVÉ brings together some of the country's finest classical voices to celebrate Australian stories, languages and composers, weaving the oldest living culture into contemporary sound. The result is unlike anything else.

The ensemble features Katie Noonan (soprano), Hannah Fraser (mezzo-soprano), Louis Hurley (tenor), and Andrew O'Connor (bass-baritone), four artists who have, between them, performed at the Sydney Opera House, Wigmore Hall in London, with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, at the Adelaide Festival, and on stages across Australia and internationally.

Why black?

Our structured jackets and flowing pleated silhouettes are made for movement, for confidence, for long days and late nights. It turns out that's exactly what a performer needs too.

For this shoot, each artist chose pieces from our signature black range, garments designed to hold their own in any room, and let the person wearing them simply lead.
